ERP Congress 2017: Asseco drives digitalisation in midsized companies

There is no “one size fits all” solution to digital transformation. There are often huge differences between companies when it comes to the means they use to achieve it, as well as their goals. For this reason, every step along the path of digitalisation should be tailored to the requirements of each firm. From the ERP perspective, companies need to find the vendor that best fits their needs and provides optimal support on their journey towards digital transformation.

The ERP Congress aims to do just that – help companies find the right vendor. The event takes place on 17-18 October in the Sheraton Airport Hotel & Conference Center in Frankfurt and gives visitors a forum where they can obtain a detailed overview of the best solutions on the market in one place. It includes a specialised exhibition area that is exclusively reserved for vendors nominated at least once in the past for the prestigious ERP System of the Year award. This year’s exhibitors naturally include Asseco Solutions, a finalist for the award in the ERP as a Driver for Digitalisation category.

On its stand at the ERP Congress, Asseco Solutions will be demonstrating how midsized companies can optimise their business processes for the digital era. The foundation for this is the ERP solution APplus, whose core and range of functions ensures that it is already equipped today for implementation in digital transformation initiatives. These functions include mobility, cloud computing and the integration of third-party systems without programming. In addition, SCS, Asseco Solutions’ Industry 4.0 offering, works seamlessly with APplus to offer a wide range of functions for intelligent machine integration, service support with predictive maintenance, and smart information services for end customers. The latter enable machine builders to expand their portfolio with digital services as part of a new, digital business model.

Three events under one roof

This year’s ERP Congress combines three types of event in one place. The central event is the specialist conference, which enables visitors to hear experts from industry and business fields give a wide range of presentations on the subject of ERP systems in the digital era. For the first time, the conference is complemented by the accompanying exhibition as well as the award ceremony for the ERP System of the Year competition, which the University of Potsdam’s Center for Enterprise Research traditionally holds in the autumn. That makes the event ideal for decision makers thinking about implementing or extending their ERP system, as they have three ways to learn about the scope of each solution and compare all the key providers in one place.

Vendor presentations and award ceremony

A further focus on the suitability of the solutions for use in the real world is included in the traditional vendor presentations, which are also a part of the ERP Congress this year. The nominated vendors demonstrate their system live in front of the panel of experts and the audience. Along with the purely functional scope of their solution, they also address questions on the implementation methodology, training courses and customisation options, while illustrating their answers with an example from a reference customer. The awards themselves will be presented at the end of the second day during the prize-giving ceremony, which starts at 17:30.
